FOR EASE AND COMFORT DURING OUR 9 DAY STAY IN TEXAS WE DECIDED TO RENT A VEHICLE AND WHEN THE HUMMER CHOICE WAS NIXED WE DECIDED ON THE TEXAS VEHICLE OF CHOICE A WHITE CREW CAB DUALLY PICKUP WITH 4 WHEEL DRIVE.






MARBURGER  SHOW SECURITY WAS PROVIDED IN PART BY LOCAL SHERIFFS ON HORSE BACK, AN ADDED MEASURE OF  LOCAL COLOR AS THIS SHOW IS EXTREMELY WELL MANAGED AND HAS A EXCELLENT STAFF OF HELPFUL PEOPLE.





AS A RULE SALES ARE TWICE AS GOOD WHEN EVERYONE IS SMILING.






WHILE THE OVERALL ATMOSPHERE IS VERY FESTIVAL LIKE, ALMOST EVERYONE IS THERE TO DO SOME SERIOUS SHOPPING.

TEXAS ROUNDUP SPRING 2009

In the spring there is one place to be and that's Round Top Texas, which is about 1300 miles one way from home, so load up the truck big time. First add 6 or 7 tables, 3 of them with stone tops, and iron bases, toss in one huge country store counter, 200 lbs of factory lockers, a couple railway station carts, a massive butchering table, perhaps an ornate country sideboard from Quebec, a solid iron table used in a print shop, various iron urns, maybe 6 to 9 decorative pieces of cast iron, and a multitude of other objects both big and small, and poof!!! you've got a truck load.

1300 miles bouncing around in a truck is hard to beat as a way of traveling but that's how we do it. Stop now and then to take a photo or two.
